Dear Prof. Barrie,

It is with lots of sadness that I write this note on behalf of Loyola Family.
Every visit of yours has been a beautiful memory.
I remember the last one...your meals with us in the Jesuit refectory...and the long chats..and my remark that we dont have some good texts in Sociological theory ...and She remembering it and sending me a few books..
The Generosity and the care...and the gentle presence that she was..
Prof. Barrie, we know you will miss her more than anybody..
Just to assure you that we are with you and that we too have warm memories of your dear one.
prayers and love

Fr M .K.George, on behalf of Loyola College Family

Dear Barrie

My deepest sympathies to you and to all who, like us at Satyodaya, loved her. So many things at Satyodaya, left behind by Barrie and her when they had to leave after work and vacation periods in Sri Lanka, remind us of her and Barrie: the computer table now used by our Chairperson, spoons and forks and table ware, the HP printer used by our computer colleague, the Mozart/Mutter CD given to me by Nancy when she was last leaving Sri Lanka, I did not then even remotely suspect, for the last time. Let me know if the remembrance below is in order for the blog and worthy of her noble character.

Goodbye, dear Nancy.

Barrie, we are all with you in your great grief. - Paul

Nancy - It was not many months ago when I was at dinner with Barrie and her in the compact little flat they had rented out for a few weeks in Kandy, Sri Lanka. My memories of her are all without exception happy ones. - admiration, respect, and most of all devotion and friendship. I never at all expected her end to come so soon and so abruptly. May the shades of night fall lightly around her!

- Paul and companions at Satyodaya.
